Kauai - The Garden Island

We are back. After two full weeks of doing what we wanted, when we wanted, we are home and well, not much has changed. Work still needs to be done on the house ( I was really hoping that everything would have been completed while we were gone - oh well) and weeds need to be pulled, you all know...it's just the stuff - the stuff you don't have to do on vacation! I missed everyone, and our house and the coastside area, but I miss Kauai. I really love it there. Here are a few pics from our trip.
A beautiful Kauai sunrise...

"Tunnels Beach" early in the morning...

I loved this image...this chair was just sitting there, and everyone would just walk by...
Only one person sat in the chair during the 5 hours we were here at Tunnels Beach.

I loved this cloud. It's Puff the Magic Dragon, and of all places, Hanalei. Who knew?

I love this view of the Na'Pali Coast from Tunnels Beach. The water is so blue/green and the land is sooooooo green.

This was the view from our lanai, but this was spectacular. The moon rising and reflective colors of the sun setting created a pink and purple sky. This was a longer exposure so I balanced my camera on the railing of our 3rd floor lanai. Put the timer on 2 seconds and held the camera still. Of course I didn't bring a tripod...why would I do that? I was on vacation -

This is one of my favorite shots. The color of the water, the color of the wave, the perfect curl. We had a great time - Lots of sun with only two slight sunburns, lots of water, Tim did a bunch of snorkeling. He saw a rather large Eel (+/- 4 feet long) and what he thinks was a Spotted Eagle Ray, along with all sorts of other colorful fish, coral, urchin, etc. I did a little bit of snorkeling, but I am much better on the beach.

ALOHA!

Aloha everyone!

From the "Garden Island" Kauai, I just want to say hi. We have been enjoying ourselves for the past week and we have another week to go. The weather has been beautiful, the people - wonderful, the food - pretty darn good, and the scenery - WOW! Here is our view every morning from our lanai. Who could ask for anything more?
